MY BACKGROUND

Whilst doing my Fine Art Degree in Hull (1990 - 1993) I became interested in the psychological aspects of creating art, especially as a form of communication and expression of emotion. This led me to do the Postgraduate Diploma in Art Therapy at the University of Hertfordshire. Since qualifying in 1997 I worked as an Art Therapist in the NHS (Humber & East Riding of Yorkshire) for 18 years.   Referrals were through the Children's Learning Disability Team (CTLD), Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAHMS) and across Adult Mental Health Teams both in-patient and community.

Since 2015 I have been working self employed and developed an Art Therapy service based in Colleges, Primary and Secondary schools (mainstream and special education).

Individual Art Therapy for children, young people and adults is provided from my Art Therapy room based in central Hull (K2, HU1 3EN).

I am on the Approved Therapeutic Provider List for One Adoption; North & Humber. Personal therapy for Trainee Art Therapists online or in person is also part of my Art Therapy Service.

Art Therapists are regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC-Registration Number AS01052). I have have Professional Indemnity Insurance & Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).
