WHAT IS OFFERED & TIMESCALES OF ART THERAPY

When the school requests Art Therapy an initial service agreement will be made. As the child or young person's complex feelings may relate to difficult experiences and past trauma, time is required to develop a trusting therapeutic relationship. To support this, the recommendation is to provide upto 22 sessions. Integral to this is the intial assessment stage.

To maintain consistency, appointments are at the same time on a weekly basis and 50 minutes in duration.

The progress of Art Therapy is reviewed at appropriate stages and an Art Therapy Update Report is provided. If longer term therapy could be helpful it would be discussed with the family and referrer.

The ending stage of therapy needs to be managed carefully. Part of this is to assist the child or young person to work through possible experiences of separation and loss in their life.

A final Art Therapy Report will be made on completion of sessions.

PRIVATE ART THERAPY

If Art Therapy is requested to be provided privately and not a direct referral from school, an agreement for the sessions to take place in the school would be needed. I will be able to provide the information required about Art Therapy and my professional registrations for this to be set up.

REFERRAL TO ART THERAPY & FEES

There is an Art Therapy Referral Form which can be completed once consent has been given by the person with parental responsibility.

Fees can be requested at the point of the initial enquiry about a referral to Art Therapy. Fees would include the costings for individual Art Therapy sessions including materials, an Art Therapy Update Report and Final Report.
